About Me
Hello! I am Yujun Liu. I graduated from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a PhD degree in Physics in July, 2025. During my postgraduate study, my research involved modeling open quantum systems using linear algebra and statistical mechinics to analyze static properties, and formulating high-order differential equations to predict dynamic evolution. To validate the models, I gained extensive experimental expertise on operating a complex ultracold atoms apparatus, integrating mechanical, electronic, and optical systems. My PhD study ended up with a study of many-body effects within an open quantum framework.
Before that, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Optoelectronic Information Science and Technology from South China Normal University, Guangzhou in 2021. My undergraduate studies provided a strong foundation in information theory and optoelectronic signal processing. Besides, I conducted research on novel auto-focusing optical beams, exploring their potential applications in optical tweezers.
To explore how to extend my numerical analysis skills, I am actively pursuing knowledge in financial risk managements. It is worth mentioning that I have passed GARP FRM Part I exam in May, 2025. More recently, I develop a strong interest in Natural Language Processing models. I am independently explore how to adapt some pretrained NLP models through fine-tuning for specific tasks, such as analyzing and translating market news...
